The ball is now in play and DirecTV is ready for the 2012 San Diego Padres Season to begin. Thanks to an agreement between FS San Diego and DirecTV, the first game of the Padres 2012 Spring Season scheduled for April 5th as well as the rest of the Padres season games will be televised on DirecTV in HD. DirecTV will carry the Padres Pre/Post games during the 2012 MLB season.

Unlike local cable companies, DirecTV’s MLB Extra Innings Sports Package offers Padres fans their games in crystal-clear HD. Now that the Padres will be available on DirecTV to all San Diego Residents, you can accompany your team from opening day to the pennant race.

This is a very profitable option for San Diego local bar and restaurant owners that televise sporting events, especially Padres Games. DirecTV MLB Extra Innings offers 80 games a week and 40 of those are in HD thanks to DirecTV’s Sports Choice HD Package. This means that you will get the most out of your HD TV’s. There’s nothing better than and ice cold beer and some great food while enjoying a Padres game, and your customers are well aware of this. San Diego based businesses can benefit greatly from this change. Get it in your business immediately and get the Padres all season long. And when babseball is over you’ll be ready for the NFL Sunday Ticket. Keep sports fans in your bar or restaurant all year long!

In case you don’t have HD monitors in your business or perhaps you simply want to optimize your business’s audio/video equipment by adding an amazing Video Wall or HD Projection System, Commercial Satellite Audio & Video can send out a professional technician to evaluate your present setup and offer you a variety of options and solutions best suited for your business needs. What better than to bring in the new with a whole new business perspective in mind. Hotels have fallen behind greatly when it comes to TV’s for hospitality upgrades, audio and video integration and viewing options for their guest. Hotels of yesteryear have felt that so long as there is a TV to watch and clean sheets, business is perfect, but that’s not the case.

In a world where every type of business is considered competitive, high tech improvements have become a must. Bars, night clubs and restaurants have turned to a new era of audio & video integration. From LCD & Plasma Flat Screens to Hiperwall Video Walls, the limits are endless, and hotels don’t fall much behind. Whether you have a small 20 room business or a large executive style hotel, keeping up with technology is inevitable. Nobody wants to walk into a room where you have to turn the knob on the TV to get the local news channel because there is not much else to watch.

DirecTV for businesses has become the new platform for offering guest enjoyable TV programming while enjoying it on an incredible LCD or Plasma flat screen. When people choose to stay at a hotel, they not only look for comfort, but in-room entertainment as well. Atmosphere can keep guest captivated, or at the very least take them to a place away from home. Laptop Connections for Bars and Restaurants

Oct 11, 2011   //   by comav   //   Blog  //  No Comments

Why computer laptop connection are important for sports bars and restaurants.

laptop connections at bars and restaurants

Want to pick up your lunch time group reservations?  Fill up your meetings rooms?  Turn your place into another place for businesses to give presentations?

Not all sports restaurants cater only to the sports fanatic whose only goal is to eat, drink and win the game.  Many are upscale and market to local businesses and networking groups that hold regularly hold meetings.  Of course, being able to display a powerpoint presentation, a video or pictures can be a big bonus to prospective clients looking to motivate their staff, impress their clients or hold a special event.  We have the solution.

At many of our client’s properties, we’ve installed discrete connections for VGA cables so that whatever is displayed on the customer’s laptop can also be displayed on selected HD monitors.  And, with “Zoned Audio,” the system ensures everyone at the special event not only sees the presentation, but hear it as well.

This smart, inexpensive AV trick translates into more group sales.   Anniversary parties can now include the grandkids’ slide show, businessmen can rationalize more off-site lunch meetings and awards dinners don’t require expensive AV rental.   That means more sales and more revenue for our clients.  And, happier customers.

RS-232 Control for Sports Bars and Restaurants

RS-232 Control from TV’s

rs-232 control

Our experience is that sports bar and restaurant owners, as well as businesses that use DIRECTV or digital signage in their lobby or waiting rooms, prefer to focus on their business and not the TV. This is particularly true when there are multiple TV screens that have to be turned on and programmed to the right channel. When they want to simplify, the solution is installing TV monitors with the “RS-232 Control.”

Think of it like automatic sprinklers that turn on and off at a predetermined time and water a specific area. But, instead of water it’s the TVs that are fully automated. 232 control allows us to program the screens to turn on and off when the business opens and closes so the manager never has to assign a staff person to do this task. What’s more, we program the system to display pre-selected channels. This means there is not time or worry spent on the AV system when opening and closing the business. Instead, when the doors open, the monitors are all showing the preferred channels and turning off automatically at closing time. No fuss.

Please note: not all TV monitors have 232 control. That’s one reason why we often recommend the Samsung, Sharp and LG commercial TV monitors. Your AV system should not perform well, it should be easy and convenient to use. We build AV systems that enhance your business, not take up more time, energy and worry. 232 control helps us ensure our clients can always focus on their customers first. And that makes happy customers.

Zoned Audio helps make happier customers

Zone AudioBeing in a sports bar unable to hear the game can be a very frustrating experience for the client. If it’s because the home team is winning and folks are cheering, they’ll forgive the restaurant, grill, tavern, pub or sports bar. If it’s because the sound system isn’t dialed in correctly, the business is in trouble for making the clientele unhappy.

That’s why we create “Zoned Audio.” Using top-quality, crystal-clear speakers with very specific sound broadcast characteristics (higher degree of directionality), we create areas where specific audio channels are heard perfectly while being isolated from the sound coming from the other TV channels. We install easy-to-use source switching technology that gives you and your staff the flexibility with a push of a button or tap of the finger to place a DIRECTV channel’s audio and video to a specific area of the restaurant or bar.

Think of it: as one group is watching the DIRECTV golf channel, another is enjoying football game and yet neither group feels pushed out by the other. The Zone Audio Video explains how the a Zone Audio System can make your customers – happy customers.

Com1000 vs. LG Code Plus Headend Systems

The “headend” system sends that encrypted signal to the guest rooms.   While the Com1000 system from Technicolor (formerly Thomson) has become the industry standard, we also offer the newer LG Code Plus system. Both have their own distinct advantages so we carefully walk you through the differences to ensure your goal of using the very best headend for the cost is achieved.

Pro:Centric

LG’s content delivery system, Pro:Centric, provides guests with amazingly easy-to use digital signage that acts like a digital concierge.  Beyond simply a channel selection guide, guests will be able to check on daily weather, review hotel amenities and, with the optional Web Editor, can even offer customizable billboards to promote any business and service.  The optional Electronic Program Guide (EPG), guests can enjoy selecting their favorite programs by viewing each particular show’s detailed description.

Flat Screen TVs for Hospitality

Do you know if the property’s in-room displays are HD?  We find many hotels with updated TV’s fed by outdated distribution systems.  We not only source our screens to get you the latest technology at the lowest price, but our technical expertise ensures your entire system is operating at its max.

Of course, the quality of displays continues to increase while simultaneously becoming more affordable.  When is the right time to upgrade?  LG, Sharp and Samsung are our favorite hospitality tv brands for different reasons including size for the cost, compatibility, flexibility and picture quality.  By focusing on dependability and compatibility, we ensure your TV screens are designed to have the longest life

Free-to-Guest (FTG) Entertainment Solutions

Jun 27, 2011   //   by comav   //   Hospitality Solutions  //  No Comments

We are one of the best Free-To-Guest (FTG) entertainment system integrators catering to the U.S. hospitality industry. While many hotels still have a headend system that provides the local channels, HBO and video-on-demand for adult content, today’s guests demand more. With DIRECTV, fully digital distribution and HD flat-panel screens, guests can enjoy HBO, ESPN, the three major cable news channels along with local and specialized programming like the Food Channel, Comedy Channel, SPIKE, etc. all in HD. Once they’ve seen HD, they won’t be satisfied with old technology. And that’s just the beginning.

Guests now bring laptop computers, gaming devices, iPads and iPods and expect there to be easy ways to connect, charge and use those devices in room. Ensuring connectivity all but guarantees client satisfaction – at least regarding their in-room entertainment. That’s where we come in.
We offer state-of-the-art comprehensive FTG entertainment solutions. We keep our clients ahead of the fast-paced technology curve by installing products that are new to the market or the manufacturers’ latest upgrades. What that means to you is happier customers (more revenue) and a longer product replacement cycle (lower costs).

How to get a bigger, clearer picture and save money? Technology!

May 23, 2011   //   by comav   //   Blog, Commercial Satellite, Offices & Boardrooms, Video Conferencing  //  No Comments

Up until today, about the only way to get a big, crystal clear, 70” video display in your board room was through an expensive, noisy hot projector blasting images to a pull down screen.  The problem is the expense of running the unit.  Constantly replacing lamps is costly and bothersome.  We have the solution.  It’s called the Sharp LC-70LE732U.

Step up to spectaularge! Sharp’s “quad pixel” technology adds a fourth color – yellow – revealing more unique hues than any other television.  8-million sub-pixels of colors unique to the AQUOS LED system with an amaing 6,000,000:1 contrast ratio.  Of course, it also incorporates the latest bells and whistles like Netflix streaming video, built-in WiFi connectivity, CinemaNow capability and Vudu™ apps.

Sharp 70" TV

Here’s the kicker.  No light dimming.  The screen is bright-as-day so just start your presentation and everyone can take notes.  And, at the end of the day, when all is said and done, the price of replacing your expensive-to-maintain hot, noisy, lamp-eating projector is often less than enjoying the clarity and efficiency of state-of-the-art technology.  Today, Commercial Satellite Audio & Video installed the first SHARP 70LE732U in San Diego at UCSD.  Do you want to lower costs while increasing the quality and impact of your presentations?  Please give us a call.  We can help.
